Chien-Shiung Wu (1912-1997) was a Chinese-American experimental physicist known for her contributions to nuclear physics. She helped develop the process for separating uranium metal by gaseous diffusion, and disproved the hypothetical law of conservation of parity. She was the first to receive the Wolf Prize in Physics in 1978.
