Caroline Herschel (1750-1848) was a German astronomer who discovered eight comets and three nebulae, and developed the New General Catalogue, an arrangement of over 2,500 nebulae and star clusters which is still partly in use today. She was the first woman to receive a salary for services to science, and to be awarded a Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society.

“Herschel” is a cool lilac with subtle violet shimmer.
