Emelie du Chatelet (1706-1749) was a French natural philosopher, mathematician, physicist, and author. She is known for her translation and commentary of Isaac Newton’s book Principia, which included her own significant contribution to Newtonian mechanics: the postulate of an additional conservation law for total energy.

“Chatelet” is a dusty, muted rose.
